Man, what a killer movie. Really went on to start something, ya know? Hard to look back on it now without a little reverence and a little rolling of the eyes. This movie is surprisingly loud. But anyway, this was the originator that spawned a seemingly endless amount of Found Footage films, and they did expertly. Some young documentarians go searching in the hills of Maryland for the Blair Witch, a legendary character who supposedly kidnaps people, kills ‘em in the woods, builds effigies, etc. And do they ever find her. This is an excellent film, scary as it should be, so realistic that people STILL think that the actors from it were lookalikes hired to cover up that the actual people from the film have gone missing. Good on ya, Blair Witch.
