Paco Plaza really hit his stride with [Rec] 3. 2 was kind of a boring mess, and 1 was excellent but leaned too heavily on silly things like demon/zombie children. But 3 is just excellent. Basically, the zombie/demon hybrid virus spreads at a wedding, chaos ensues, some people survive, most don’t. What this movie lacks in originality (I mean, it’s just a zombie movie), it makes up for with consistency. It’s pretty solid through and through, offers a few laughs, stays true to the storyline built by the franchise, and only really contains a few overly stupid scenes - I could have done without the kiss. Solid zombie movie, panned by critics due to an over-congestion of mediocre zombie flicks when this came out.
