The [Rec] series lives in odds and evens. The first was a genre defining horror fest that managed to keep me up at night. The second is a flaccid continuation of the first - it literally picks up at the moment the first left off - but for some reason, a majority of the infected are demon/zombie children. They allude to the possession at the end of the first, but they take it further here. I disapprove of zombie kids, I find them to be un-scary and a stupid way to try to shock and scare people. The third in the series, in which the virus shows up at a wedding ceremony, was pretty creepy and action packed. And then the fourth, in which the virus is on a ship, is just silly. This one was pretty silly. I mean, it’s pretty creepy, and there are lots of jump scares, but geez. What convoluted story line for a zombie movie.

P.S. Why do the possessed sound like bears? What happened to the legit zombie noises from the first movie?
