I thought this movie was just awesome. It’s evenly paced, the dialogue feels real (past maybe the first ten minutes - had to find its footing), the danger is ever-present, and the mood ends up feeling beautiful. A photographer for a media company is stuck in lower Mexico during an invasion when he is directed to find and bring to safety the daughter of the media company’s owner. The invasion is masterfully done - the aliens are basically enormous octopuses, and they act like animals. Best, they’re only shown a handful of times throughout the movie. Precaution: this movie was made in 2010, so the CGI is only going to look worse and worse as the years go on. More sci-fi than scary, but totally worth a watch.
P.S. why does the media mogul sound like he’s 22 years old on the phone?
