I don’t know if I’d call this a horror movie. Maybe a survivalist drama? An upsetting, unsettling…story? I was expecting monsters, so I was a little let down. You know I love a good monster movie. Zombies, demons, monster-of-the-woods, whatever. Maybe I wasn’t let down - perhaps I was mislead. I wasn’t expecting infection and isolation. It’s hard for me to know what to say about this. It was a really well made movie, and a good story, but it wasn’t fun at all. I don’t mean all movies have to be fun, but there was something missing. Some piece of vitality. Like, The VVitch. I feel like that movie was sad, and slow, and somber, and scary, but there was something more fun or interesting about it. This movie felt a little lifeless. But still better than a LOT of what comes out.
