Rad. This is kind of a German Paranormal Experience. A guy, his girlfriend, and his bed friend go explore a medieval castle to attempt to find evidence of the existence of the ghosts of an old count and his victims. The movie relies on night vision and effects like the camera cutting out or signal interference. It was kind of nice that it was in German - I really had to pay attention! This movie is nothing new, nothing terribly interesting; particularly for this late in the game on found footage films. Worst of all, it’s little boring, and focuses on a TON of tropes: children’s drawings, freaked out // easily possessed sleepwalking woman, guys who can sleep through seemingly any noise. There was eventually some pretty cool mirror play later in the movie, I always love that sort of stuff, when the image in a mirror moves on its own. But, nothing spectacular. Probably better to just watch the first Paranormal Activity again, but decent for a few jumps if you’re out of original horror movies. They could have done without the inexplicable demon/dragon noises every time somethings strange happened, too.
