The most I feel I can really say about this movie is that it’s very loud. Lacking the charm of the first, or the obvious goofiness of the second, Blair Witch falls flat on its face. With a nod to body horror, I find this film mostly confounding: what’s with the foot moving? Was THAT the Blair Witch? What actually happened to…well, ANY of the characters? This was just kind of a poorly written movie. It took an idea steeped deeply in mountain folklore and made it about…I don’t know, aliens? Humanoid praying mantis monsters? Time travel magic? Even the second movie, with was an absurd film, didn’t tread too far from the original, or try to introduce anything more than the myth. Well, OK, maybe it did, but I’m splitting hairs here because of just how ludicrous this movie was. Pass.
