Ah, I liked this movie. I’m a big fan of the stuff the Duplass brothers make, and this early gem didn’t disappoint. A group of friends from LA go to the woods and stay in a cabin in an attempt to write a scary movie together that they can all star in, only to have the movie’s protagonist potentially come to life - or is it just one of them messing with the others? The movie is soft and quiet, filmed on a shaky handheld camera, and portrays the best features of their usual work: ultra-realistic dialogue, zoom-ins on peoples’ faces, and a quirky twist. At times a bit dry, Baghead could have used a little trimming of the fat around the middle of the movie, but was an ultimately engaging and enjoyable indie movie experience. You should watch it!
