OK, so this is super weird, but I actually loved this movie. It’s not a good movie. But it was so much fun! It’s an anthology of 4ish stories, and here’s the gist: a cop too stressed out to work takes his family into the woods and chops down a tree from a fenced-off lot, but realizes he may have brought home more than just a tree when his child begins acting strangely…Santa must protect Mrs. Claus from zombie-like, infected elves and an impending showdown with Krampus…a group of teenagers explore the haunted school site of a Christmas massacre and meet more spirits than just those of the past, present, and future…finally, a family do their due diligence in visiting Aunt Ella, only to be hunted down by Krampus for their sins. All the while, an ever-drunkening William Shatner narrates as a radio host, eventually breaking down due to the pressures of an imperfect holiday. Is this movie stupid? yea, sure it is. It’s not even terribly well done. But it was a lot of fun, and if you’re going to make a Christmas-themed horror movie, it should at least be fun. Total recommend.
